More than $3 million in prizes and scholarships are awarded to participating students, instructors, and schools at the National Automotive Technology Competition. Prizes include full and partial scholarships to many of the nation's top post-secondary educational programs, tools, training equipment, donation vehicles (used for classroom training) and of course, the grand prize, two new Pontiac Solstices.

Prizes are awarded thanks to the generosity of the Competition's sponsors, which include most of the world's major automakers, industry suppliers, and educational institutions.

The 2009 First Place winners received:

• Lincoln Technical Institute Full Tuition Scholarship
• Universal Technical Institute Full Core Program Tuition Scholarship
• University of Northwestern Ohio Full Tuition Scholarship (not to exceed $25,000)
• Ohio Technical College $20,000 Scholarship
• Baran Institute of Technology $5,000 Scholarship
• New England Institute of Technology $2,000 Scholarship
