Grand Prize Two Chevrolet Cobalts

The two winners of this year's National Automotive Technology
Competition will each receive a brand new Chevrolet Cobalt, courtesy of
General Motors. The Cobalt's, valued at more than $16,000 each, will be
awarded to the students following the completion of their post-secondary
education.
Cobalt and Cobalt SS
As Chevy's newest entry in the small car segment, Cobalt has a premium
look and feel throughout. Offered in coupe or sedan body styles, Cobalt
comes in numerous trim levels. Each has a specific interior, powertrain,
suspension and wheel/tire combination to deliver distinct levels of
performance and handling. The base, LS coupe and sedan and LT sedan have
as standard GM's proven 2.2L Ecotec four-cylinder engine, rated at 140
horsepower. Cobalt Coupe and Sedan start at $14,190.
The Cobalt SS will debut in mid-2005 as a 2006 model and will feature a
205-hp 2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged DOHC engine, 18-inch wheels and tires,
high-mounted rear spoiler, foglamps, and unique front and rear fascias.
SS will also include a five-speed manual transmission, leather-appointed
front bucket seats with color-keyed perforated inserts, AM/FM stereo
with CD/MP3 player, and a Seven-speaker Pioneer premium sound system,
titanium-faced instrumentation, including a boost gauge, leather-wrapped
steering wheel with audio and cruise controls, body-color power outside
rearview mirrors, and four-wheel antilock disc brakes. Cobalt SS starts
at $21,995.
